Google is working on a fix for Android app crashes, but here’s how to fix it yourself.

Users’ Android apps began crashing for no apparent reason yesterday. Users have been confused by the fact that the affected apps are unrelated to one another.
A buggy update to the Android System WebView app was the root cause of Android apps crashing yesterday. Unrelated Android apps began crashing for some users after Google released an update yesterday.
This caused some confusion, and if you’re one of them, we’ve got a few solutions for you until Google releases a new update to solve the problem.

Here’s what you can do if your Android apps keep crashing for you:
1. Uninstall Android System WebView updates. This is the simplest way to resolve the problem of Android apps crashing.

Follow these steps to uninstall Android System WebView updates:
Go to Apps -> Android System WebView in Settings. Now, on the top right, tap the three-dot menu.
Then select ‘Uninstall updates’ from the drop-down menu.  That should take care of the issue. The three-dot menu may not be visible for some users. In that case, simply tap the ‘Uninstall’ button, and the latest update will be uninstalled.

2. Turn off Google Chrome
If the Android System WebView app isn’t listed in the Apps section, you can also disable Google Chrome.
After you’ve done that, the Android System WebView app should appear.
Follow these steps to turn off Google Chrome:  Go to Apps -> Google Chrome in Settings. Disable the feature by pressing the ‘Disable’ button. That is all there is to it. There is no need to uninstall Android System WebView updates if the apps are no longer crashing. If your apps keep crashing, you’ll have to uninstall updates. The first method’s steps should be followed.
