Secunderabad and Hyderabad Divisions, South Central Railways Partner With Ola To Facilitate Seamless Last Mile Connectivity

Secunderabad and Hyderabad Railway divisions (South Central Railways) today announced an exclusive partnership with Ola, India’s leading and one of the world’s largest ride-sharing companies, to facilitate last mile connectivity for the railway passengers.

Under the 3 year long partnership, Ola launched dedicated ‘Ola kiosks’ at 3 key railway stations to improve overall mobility experience, for lakhs of passengers who visit the railway stations daily. Through this partnership, passengers at the Secunderabad, Hyderabad Deccan and Kacheguda railway stations will now be able to also book a cab with the assistance of Ola representatives stationed at Ola kiosks within the station premises itself. Further, Ola Zones have been set up at each station, providing dedicated parking to the cabs thereby helping in easing out the parking and traffic issue at the stations. Ensuring customer convenience, these zones will work as dedicated pick and drop points and will bring down the Expected Time of Arrival (ETA) of cabs to as low as 2 minutes.

New passengers choosing to travel through Ola will also have the opportunity to avail special discounts on their first cab or auto ride.

Amit Vardhan, Divisional Railway Manager, Secunderabad Division, South Central Railways said, “Secunderabad, Hyderabad Deccan and Kacheguda railway stations are serving over 2,00,000 lakh passengers every day, and this association with Ola will help and solve the last mile connectivity issues of our passengers. Ola is very well connected in Hyderabad and our partnership will be a great example of public and private transport complementing each other’s strength, and work towards building a comprehensive transportation landscape.”

Sandeep Upadhyay, City Head – Hyderabad at Ola said, “We are thankful to the South central railways for choosing Ola as their partner to simplify the mobility experience of the railway passengers. Dedicated kiosks and zones will assist passengers in booking cabs easily and will also help them in locating their cabs conveniently. This partnership reaffirms our commitment towards building first and last mile connectivity solutions and making mobility seamless for lakhs of railway commuters. We are looking to set up our kiosks and zones at more railway stations in the coming months.”

The partnership with railways falls in line with Ola’s vision strengthening a city’s transportation landscape through its smart and sustainable mobility solutions. Recently, Ola partnered with L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad Ltd (LTMRHL) to to set up kiosks within the station premises at Miyapur, Ameerpet, Nagole, KPHB Colony metro stations. The partnership also entails integration of Ola’s mobile wallet, Ola Money and cab booking experience through TSavaari, the official Hyderabad Metro Rail app.

Through these partnerships with Railway divisions and LTMRHL, the passengers will get access to Ola’s best quality hatchbacks, sedans and SUVs, driven by top rated driver partners. Ola’s in-app safety features and programs (SOS button, LIVE GPS tracking to share ride information, mobile number masking) ensure a safe and convenient mobility experience for commuters.
